The stamps of this country seem to have been issued mainly for philatelic reasons.

1922 Stamps of the Leeward islands surcharged 'BARBUDA'

  3 p lilac on yellow
  6 p lilac
  1 Sh black on green (red overprint)
  2 Sh lilac and blue on blue
  3 Sh green and lilac
  4 Sh black and red (red overprint)
  5 Sh green and red on yellow

For the specialist: The values 3 p, 1 Sh and 5 Sh have the watermark 'Multiple CA Crown', the other have the watermark 'Multiple Crown Script CA' (the letters 'CA' are written in script)

The cancel 'BARBUDA JU 1 23' has been forged by Madame Joseph (source: Gibbons Stamp Monthly September 2002, p. 67).

 

From the end of 1924 onwards Barbuda used stamps from Leeward islands again.
