Some stamps of Dusseldorf (see there) with inscription "BRIEF - BESTELLUNG KRAUS" were also used in Duisburg.


DUREN

1895 Mercury standing on globe, inscription "DURENER STADTBRIEF BEFORDERUNGS ANSTALT"

The stamps 2 p blue and 3 p orange of Aachen were also used in Duren. They were cancelled "MERKUR DUREN"

DUSSELDORF

1894 Number, inscription "STADTBRIEF - BEFORDERUNG COURIER", small crosses in the corners, perforated

All these stamps were also used in Kiel and the 3 p blue on green is also used in Munster. Other stamps in different values and colours can also be found in those two cities.

I've seen a 1 M stamp in the above type with a violet overprint (or cancel?) "Privat - Stadtbrief - Beforderung Kl. Schottengasse 1.".

The above postcard has the inscription: "Brief Beforderung "Courier", Erfurt Karten Brief", an attached part states the cost of sending letters.

 

Some stamps of Leipzig were used in Erfurt, they also exist overprinted with 'EC' and a wheel. There also exist two stamps of the 'Thuringer Volksblatt' in the values 2 p green and 3 p red.


ESCHWEILER

1896 Mercury on globe, inscription "VERKEHRS ANSTALT MERKUR", no city name indicated

The stamps of Aachen also seem to have been used in Eschweiler.
