Stamps in a similar design were issued for the Elobey, Annobon and and Corisco; Fernando Poo; Philippines; Puerto Rico; Spanish Guinea and Rio de Oro.

Unlisted overprint 'C. 1898 RESELLADO 1899 T':

Some stamp stocks had fallen in the hands of the insurgents and therefore the above overprinted stamps were prepared to distinguish them from other stamps. However, these overprinted stamps were never set in use.

I have also seen this overprint inverted on the values 2 m and 1 c:

(Forged or bogus inverted overprints)

Fournier also made forgeries of these stamps. He offers 1st choice forgeries and 2nd choice forgeries. His 2nd choice forgeries are relatively crude:

(Clumsy forgery, probably 2nd choice Fournier forgeries)

Possibly another 2nd choice Fournier forgery

I have seen the first choice Fournier forgeries uncancelled, imperforated and with cancels 'MANILA 12 DIC 98 (FILIPINAS)' and 'CAVITE 21 DIC 98 (FILIPINAS)'.

Fournier forgeries, with the 'CAVITE' or 'MANILA' forged cancels as shown below, or uncancelled.

The two forged Fournier cancels 'MANILA 12 DIC 93 (FILIPINAS)' and 'CAVITE 21 DIC 98 (FILIPINAS)' as shown in 'The Fournier Album of Philatelic Forgeries', reduced sizes

Later Issues

In 1899 the Philippines were occupied by the United States (listed in the Cd with Volume 1). During World War II, Japan occupied the Philippines and issued special stamps.
