Indo China (Indochine in French) consisted of the French colony of Cochin-China and the French protectorates of Annam, Tonkin, Laos and Cambodia. Cochin China, Tonkin, and Annam were later combined to form a new country: Vietnam. The capital of Indo-China was Hanoi.

Forgeries:

These overprints have been forged, examples of some Fournier forgeries, taken from a Fournier Album of Philatelic forgeries:

(Forged overprints of Fournier, reduced sizes)

And some forged cancels, used by Fournier:

(Forged cancels of Fournier)

The cancels are:
"NAM-DINH TONKON 1 OCT. 92" in a double circle (inner circle dotted line)
"HANOI TONKIN 3E/27 FEVT 86" in a double circle (inner circle dotted line)
"HANOI TONKIN 3E/27 FEVT 94" in a double circle (inner circle dotted line)
"HA-NOI TONKIN 2E/21 JUIL. 82" in a double circle
"HA-NOI 2E/20 AOUT 92 TONKIN" in a double circle
"NAM-DINH TONKIN" in a double circle (inner circel dotted line); date to be added?
"HUE 6 JUIL 88 ANNAM" in a double circle.

Fournier forgery, the stamp, overprint and cancel are forged. Note that the perforation does not 'match' in the corners.

An imperforate "forgery"; most likely a cut from some souvenir card. It has a "HUE 4 JUN 88" cancel.

A mystery "ANNAM TONKIN" overprint on a 15 c 1876 'Sage' stamp of France. This overprint is most likely bogus.

Stamp of the French Colonies with a "THUAN-AN ANNAM" cancel. Next to it another one with a "CHOBO TONKIN" cancel.

Stamp of Indo China with an "ANNAM" cancel.
