Postal Stationery

Post card of St.Vincent, overprinted with 'GIBRALTAR' (2x)

("GIBRALTAR" on Natal)

A registrered mail envelope of Barbados (2 p grey) was also overprinted with 'GIBRALTAR' in 1884.

Later, in 1887, Gibraltar issued its own postal stationery in the values 1/2 p green, 1 p red and 1 1/2 p brown. Also a 2 p registration envelope in red exists (other circular design).

With the currency change these were surcharged in 1889 with '5 CENTIMOS' on 1/2 p green, '10 CENTIMOS' on 1 p red and '15 CENTIMOS' on 1 1/2 p brown. Also a '20 CENTIMOS' on 2 p registration envelope in red exists (other circular design).

In 1889 also a new set was issued in the same design, but with the currency changed to 'CENTIMOS'. I have seen the following values: 5 c green, 10 c red (possibly a 15 c brown exists). Also a 20 c registration envelope in red exists (other circular design). I have seen the 5 c green and 10 c red with overprint 'Morocco Agencies'.

I have also seen similar postal stationery with the image of King Edward VII in the values 1/2 p green and 1 p red. Also a 2 p registration envelope in red exists (other circular design).
