Some of these stamps have an embossed grill on them (see the 20 c for example). WARNING; many of the overprints now to be described have been forged. Even bogus issues exist; overprints on stamps that never received this overprint genuinly.

1894 Overprinted with the head of President Morales Bermudez
1 c yellow 1 c green 2 c violet 2 c red 5 c blue 10 c green 50 c green
This overprint was issued on 23 October 1894. Inverted and double overprints exist. Forged overprints exist, but I've been told that the genuine overprints can be recognized by the very tiny initials 'J.H.' of the engraver (I have no further information).

(Probably a bogus issue, 3 different overprints: 'LIMA CORREOS'
in a red circle, triangle and horseshoe overprints in black)
The overprint have been forged, among the forgeries, those of Fournier:
(Forged overprints taken from a Fournier Album)
Forgeries, example:
I've been told that the above forgery is made by Spiro, as far as I know, it is always cancelled with the above 4 rings cancel. It is always printed too heavily (the design is correct in almost every detail). This forgery is described in Album Weeds.
I have also seen Spiro forgeries of the values 5 c blue, 10 c green, 10 c blue and 20 c red (see images above).
