Various stamps of India were overprinted with 'PATIALA STATE' or 'PUTTIALLA STATE' from 1884 onwards.
1/2 a green 1 a brown 2 a blue 4 a green 8 a lilac 1 R grey
All these stamps have watermark 'Star', except the 4 a which has watermark 'Elephant Head'. The overprint is usually in red, but the 1 a and 8 a exist with red and black overprint:
