Until 1859 Queensland was a part of New South Wales. It was then named 'Moreton Bay District'. Stamps of New South Wales with cancels of this period are rare, example:
(A '87' barred numeral and a '87' rays cancel, used in Queensland in the Moreton Bay region)
1 p red 2 p blue 6 p green
These stamps have watermark: 'Large star' (16 mm diameter).

These stamps exist with two kinds of watermark: 'Large star' (16 mm diameter) and 'Small star' (13 mm diameter). The 'Small star' watermark even exists in two subtypes (normal and truncated star). In 1862 they were pritned locally with no watermark and in 1866 with watermark 'QUEENSLAND POSTAGE STAMPS' (sheet watermark). In 1868 with watermark 'Star QUEENSLAND' (sheet watermark). In 1868 the watermark was changed again to 'Q Crown'. They were printed with various perforations. The higher values were mainly used fiscally (and worth much less when used in this way).

Reprints of some of these stamps exist (made in 1895). I have no further information.
Cancels:
Typical 'QL' cancel
Cut from a postcard of 1880 in a similar, but elliptic design.
Forgeries of these stamps, examples:
This lithographed forgery of the 1 p often (not always) has
blotched on the 'O' of 'ONE and 'Y' of 'PENNY'
Other forgeries, possibly made by the same forger
Two forgeries with a very peculiar cancel. Next to it similar
forgeries, from Bahamas, Grenada and Natal.
Some very primitive forgeries.
Most likely some kind of cut from a souvenir postcard?
Forgery of the 1p and 1 Sh stamp with 'ONE' touching the elliptic
frameline below it.
Some values exist with the perforation cut off, pretending to be an imperforate stamp of the previous issue.
