The forger Peter Winter (Germany) made forgeries of many classic and rare stamp of several countries in the 1980's. They sometimes have the word 'replik' written on the backside (but not always).

Note on all Winter forgeries:They are printed on modern paper (the paper doesn't 'look' old).
Winter forgery of the 5 Pounds telegraph stamp. In the 'House of
Stamps Edition 88' catalogue, it can be found with a cancel
'LUDLOW MY 9 1894' cancel.
Peter Winter also made forgeries of the postage stamps 1 Pound brown, 1 Pound green and 5 Pounds orange, with the image of Queen Victoria.

Peter Winter forgeries of Western Australia, the whole letter and

Peter Winter also offers 'proofs' in blocks of four of the 5 $ 1893 value. They are printed in orange or brown.
A forgery of the Alexandria 1846 postmaster issue on a letter
adressed to 'D.Edwin D. Newton at the Hospital Richmond Va' with
'NEW ORLEANS', 'PAID' and 'PAID ALL' cancels, this forgery was
probably made by the forger Peter Winter.
I've seen exactly the same envelope with two forged Canadian
stamps in the 'House of Stamps' catalogue edition '88 and also
another one with 5 forged Hannover 1/10 Th stamps (one inverted).
These forgeries of New Haven and Providence are not listed in the
House of Stamps catalogue, but the first envelope is similar to
the one used for other forged envelopes. I've seen the 'James
Morris New Orleans Louisiana' envelope with forged Oldenburg
stamps from Peter Winter.

I've been told that the abve 1 c forgery closely resembles the Sperati forgeries.
Peter Winter claimed to have found a second example of the unique(!) 1 c black on red British Guiana 1856 stamp. But after a lot of commotion it was finally declared an altered example of a damaged 4 c stamp after examination by the Royal Philatelic Society of London.
(The second copy of this stamp turned out to be a forgery)
