The values 1 F black, 2 F black and 5 F black were initially presumed to be non-issued. They were actually non-perforated postage due stamps of France, which came in collectors hands. Reprints of these imperforate stamps also exist.

The surcharges '5', '10' and '30' were issued for Indo China. The stamps 10 on 50 c lilac, 10 on 60 c brown on brown and 10 on 1 F red on brown, with additional bar overprint, were issued for Senegal.

These postage due stamps overprinted with an eagle and text 'CINQUANTENAIRE 24 SEPTEMBRE 1853 1903' were issued for New Caledonia:

Unlisted overprints, probably fiscal stamps for Indo-China


'20 CENTS' on 30 c black and '1 FRANC' on 20 c; these are fiscal stamps for French Indo-China. I've also seen '20 CENTS' on 10 c black and '1 FRANC' on 30 c black. Other values exiss (see there).
